Harold Edward Holt was born on the 5th of August 1908 in Sydney. He was educated at Wesley College and Melbourne University.

He was elected from 1935 to 1946 as a Liberal Member for Fawkner. Holt became Prime Minister on the 26th january 1966 after Menzies retired.

Some achievements during his term as Prime Minister were: introducing modifications to the white Australian Policy demonstrated his support for the U.S by sending extra troops to the Vietnam war .

His term in office was from 20-1-1966 to 17-12-1967. This was just under one year.

On the 17th December 1967 he went swimming in rough surf at Cheviot Beach. He never came out and was assumed drowned at the age of 59. His body was never found.
